Resistance in Nazi Germany did occur even before the outbreak of World War Two in September 1939. Possibly the start of resistance occurred with the establishment of the Kreisau Circle but developed even more when it became very clear to many that Germany was not only losing World War Two but was also being systematically bombed by Bomber Command and the USAAF. Many both in the military and outside of it wanted to overthrow Adolf Hitler before Germany was destroyed. Within Nazi Germany youth movements took the lead in fighting against the Nazis. The two most famous groups were the White Rose Movement most associated with Sopie and Hans Scholl and the Edelweiss Pirates. Resistance was also found within the Protestant Church. However, the most famous example of resistance came in 1944 with the July Bomb Plot. The failure of this led to many being arrested, put before the People's Court, found guilty and executed.
